Abu Huraira reported, The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:
“When the human being dies, his deeds end except for three: ongoing charity, beneficial knowledge, or a righteous child who prays for him.” (Source: Sahih Muslim 1631)
I love sharing knowledge, therefore I chose to be an educator after spending more than 20 years working in the industry. I believe, this is the only way I can contribute that could benefit others for the sake of Allah.
I believe, a good educator is willing to spend as much effort as he/she can to find innovation and creativity techniques to make complex ideas understandable for his/her students. I have to put maximum effort exploring the best teaching techniques so that students feel fun and interested during the learning session. I am determined to guide my student to explore knowledge and guide them on how to apply the knowledge.
The second core quality that I need to have is the ability to deliver my knowledge and expertise to my students. With the industrial experience I have, I am able to add value to my teaching by sharing a real work environment to students. I want my students to get a clear picture and know the purpose of their learning in future.
Another important aspect that I should have as an educator is being available to reach by students for the enquiries pertaining to my lecture, personal problems either with family or campus life etc. I have encouraged them and tried to find ways to overcome their problems.
Teaching is a learning process. I have to be innovative and creative to improve my teaching techniques from time to time by utilising updated teaching tools technology. I should always prepare my teaching materials earlier before the class start.
“May Allah give me the strength for jihad in the way of Allah by sharing my knowledge and experience to my students”, aamiin.
